Box Score SAN BERNARDINO – A two-possession game for most of the second half eventually went against the Coyotes in their 69-61 loss to Cal State Stanislaus in CCAA women's play Saturday night at Coussoulis Arena.
Sophomore
Alexcia Mack led the Coyotes for the second straight night, scoring 17 points and senior
Trinidee Trice and freshman
Tatiana Dunlap each scored 11 points for CSUSB, now 1-8 overall and 0-6 in the CCAA.
Despite hitting just 25 percent from the field in the second half (8 of 32), the Coyotes were in the game for nearly the entire second half.
Sophomore
Adriana Brodie gave CSUSB a 55-54 lead on a layup with 5:28 remaining in the game.
But it would be five minutes until the Coyotes scored their next field goal and the Warriors took advantage by building leads as large as eight inside the final minute of play.
CSUSB finished the night 20 of 63 (31.7 percent) from the field, while Cal State Stanislaus was an even 50 percent (26 of 52). Mack had two of the Coyotes' 3-pointers with
Jenna Klein accounting for the other.
Dunlap scored seven of her 11 points from the line and had eight rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes off the bench.
Senior
Tayllor Gipson and sophomore
Adriana Brodie each had seven points and Brodie shared game-high honors in rebounds with CSUS's Lauren Godde with 10.
The Warriors (8-2, 5-1) won for the first time in Coussoulis Arena since the 2003-04 season. They were led by Jasmine Washington's 17 points. Briana Cotton had 14.
The Coyotes return to Coussoulis Arena on Friday against Cal State Monterey Bay.
