Coyotes cruise past Hawaii Pacific, 2-0

CSUSB scores its goals inside the first 15 minutes of play

Box Score KANEOHE, Hawaii – It took just six minutes for the Coyotes to set the tone in Saturday's women's college soccer game against Hawaii Pacific.

Freshman Kiana Quarles gathered a pass from Jasmine Williams and Carissa Kutkowski for the game's opening goal and the Coyotes went on to defeat Hawaii Pacific 2-0 in nonconference play.

Seven minutes later, Kutkowski came through on a feed from Susan Ibarra. She fired a shot outside the box and bounced by the goal keeper.

Those two goals were more than enough distance for the Coyotes, who earned a shutout from senior GK Chelsey Jones, who stopped just one shot on the day.

"Great effort from our team today,'' coach Travis Clarke said. "No question, we were aggressive and it paid off with two goals early. We'll keep working hard and get ready for Monday's game against Chaminade.

Quarles totaled five shots with three SOG. Williams had the other SOG.
