Omar Laris gave the Coyotes their first goal in more than 300 hundred minutes, but host Cal State L.A. answered back with a pair of goals in a 2-1 CSUSB defeat in CCAA men's soccer Sunday afternoon.
The loss was CSUSB's fourth straight and puts the Coyotes at 4-4-2 overall and 2-4 in the CCAA heading into Friday's contest at Chico State.
Laris put the Coyotes on the scoreboard in the 31
st minute. He scored on a through ball to the corner with the assist from Andre Spencer Jr.
Thirteen minutes later, Halil Tozar scored his third goal of the season on a left-foot shot and the teams went into halftime tied at 1-1.
But at the 56-minute mark, Dane Nielsen gave the Golden Eagles the lead for good on a cross from Tozar.
Roberto Gonzalez earned the start for the Coyotes. He had seven saves.
