UC San Diego's Gavin Lamming scored off a corner kick in the 26
th minute and the Coyotes could not solve its goalkeeper Josh Cohen.
Cohen had four saves and kept the Coyotes off the scoreboard for the second consecutive game. CSUSB was dealt a 1-0 loss to Cal Poly Pomona in its first home games of the season.
UCSD took the lead when it lined up for a corner kick, delivered by Jacob Valadez. The ball was cleanly kicked in front of the net and Lamming drilled a header past Coyotes GK
Jeff Salt.
CSUSB, now 4-2-2 overall and 2-2 in the CCAA, totaled eight shots with four SOGs, but couldn't answer.
Juan Gonzalez had two SOGs for the Coyotes and senior defender
Lee Nishanian totaled two shots.
CSUSB returns to the road next week with games at Cal State Dominguez Hills (Friday) and Cal State L.A. (Sunday).
SERIES NOTES: UCSD improved its all-time lead in the series to 18-16-6. The Coyotes are 0-4-2 in their last six games against the Tritons.
