KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Five members of the California State University San Bernardino men's and women's soccer teams earned All-West Region honors Tuesday morning from the United Soccer Coaches.
Seniors Tony Negrete (Hawaiian Gardens, Calif.) and Anthony Morales (Orange, Calif.) were both named to the Second Team on the men's side, while senior Bella Cervantes (Anaheim, Calif.), junior Raylene Alcaraz (Riverside, Calif.), and sophomore Jackeline Fuentes (San Bernardino, Calif.) each were named to the Third Team for the women.
Negrete was a First Team All-CCAA selection. He finished the season with six goals and five assists.
Morales, a Second Team All-CCAA selection, led the team in both goals (nine) and assists (seven) for a combined 25 points, good for third in the CCAA.
Cervantes was named a first-team All-CCAA selection for the second straight season, recording six goals and three assists. She also earned CCAA Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 19 after notching a hat trick against Cal Poly Humboldt.
Alcaraz scored two goals and had four assists, while Fuentes scored three goals and added three assists. Both were named to the All-CCAA Second Team, with Alcaraz also earning CCAA Newcomer of the Year honors.
