TURLOCK -- Emily Mardon's unassisted goal in the 76th minute helped the Coyotes avoid a shutout loss in a 5-1 setback against host Cal State Stanislaus in CCAA women's soccer Friday.

The Coyotes (2-2 overall, 0-1 CCAA) complete the weekend Sunday at Cal State East Bay.

"This was a disappointing loss, to say the least,'' Coyotes head coach Travis Clarke said. "We need to work on a few things and we'll have that chance Sunday.''

All-American Karenee Demery scored two goals with one assist for the Warriors (3-0, 1-0).

The Coyotes mustered just three shots on the night and Mardon's shot was the only SOG for CSUSB.
