SAN BERNARDINO – The Coyotes have set their sights on earning a berth in next month's CCAA Tournament and their effort this past weekend went a long way toward earning that goal.
Alexcia Mack's three-pointer opened the Coyotes' second-half scoring and they never looked back in their 63-50 win over visiting Humboldt State before a crowd of 378 at Coussoulis Arena on Saturday night.

Jaslyn Cosey and
Eliza Dy shared team-high scoring honors with 15 points and Mack added 14 as CSUSB earned its first conference weekend sweep this season. The Coyotes are now 9-11 overall and 7-9 in the CCAA.
Humboldt State dropped to 9-13 and 5-11.
The Coyotes dominated the game on their ability to create points off turnovers. They forced HSU into 22 miscues and outscored the Lumberjacks 24-8 on turnovers. For the game, HSU had more turnovers than field goals – 22 to 20 FGs. It marked the second straight game the Coyotes accomplished that feat and is one of the surest ways to a victory.
CSUSB controlled the game for nearly the entire 40 minutes, but allowed the Lumberjacks to take a 33-30 halftime lead after Tiana Maxwell's 3-pointer with 36 seconds remaining in the half.
Mack's 3-pointer tied the game at 33-33 to open the final half and CSUSB grabbed the lead for good on Dy's jumper with 16:54 left and the Coyotes led 35-33.
Cosey finished 6-of-11 shooting and hit three 3-pointers. Dy was 5-of-11 and was 4-of-4 from the line.
CSUSB also was adept at the line, hitting 11 for 12 – a 91.7 percent clip that set a season high.
HSU was led by senior Lisa Petty with a game-high 17 points. Amanda Kunst and Tiana Maxwell each had 12.
