Alexcia Mack scored a career-high 23 points including 19 in the second half, and
Jazzmyn Davis added 15 points with 13 rebounds, but the Coyotes were stopped by host Humboldt State 73-61 in CCAA women's basketball Saturday night.
The Coyotes, who are now 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the CCAA, are off until Dec. 22 when they take on UC San Diego.
Humboldt State (4-2, 1-1) outscored the Coyotes 33-9 from the 3-point stripe with four scoring multiple 3s, led by Jae Shin's four 3-pointers, all in the second half.
CSUSB led just twice – both in the first nine minutes of the game – but HSU used a 12-2 spurt and led 22-13 with 7:29 left.
The Coyotes rallied in the second half and got within six points of the lead on Mack's jumper with 14:47 left and HSU up 42-36 with 14:47 remaining.
Humboldt then outscored the Coyotes 16-8 in the next seven minutes and remained out front.
Four Lumberjacks scored in double figures, led by Kersey Wilcox's 18 points. Megan Shields added 17.
