Coyotes earn another shutout

CSUSB disposes Cal State Monterey Bay, 1-0

Kiana Quarles provided the Coyotes with the game's only goal; her team-leading fifth of the season.
Box Score SEASIDE – The Coyotes stretched their unbeaten streak to seven and winning streak to four, thanks to the foot of freshman Kiana Quarles in a 1-0 win over host Cal State Monterey Bay in CCAA women's soccer Sunday.

The Coyotes improved to 8-2-1, and 6-1-1 in the CCAA South and will remain on top of the division entering next week's games at UC San Diego (Friday) and Cal Poly Pomona (Sunday).

Quarles connected on her team-leading fifth goal in the game's 79th minute.

On a feed from Kelly Keyes and Jasmine Williams, Quarles found a way to pump the ball past Otters GK Lily Garcia for the game's only goal.

The Coyotes allowed only two shots on goal and senior GK Chelsey Jones was more than up to the task. She recorded her seventh shutout on the campaign and took one step closer to becoming the school's all-time leader with her 15th career shutout.

Laura Lyons holds the record of 17, set from 2006-09.

Game Notes: The Coyotes increased their stranglehold on the all-time series against the Otters, improving to 9-0-1 in their 10 meetings.
