POMONA
-- Senior guard Eliza Dy scored a career-high 30 points, but it wasn't enough as host Cal Poly Pomona defeated the Coyotes 69-62 in CCAA women's basketball Saturday night.

The Coyotes, 5-5 overall and 3-3 in the CCAA, return to Coussoulis Arena on Friday night when they take on Cal State Stanislaus.

Dy put the Coyotes ahead 58-57 with two free throws with 4:44 left. But the Broncos followed with six straight points and eventually led 65-60 on Ashley Boggs' jumper with 1:24 left.

Dy hit 10 of 21 shots and was 6-of-7 from 3-point land -- the best effort from 3-point range with a minimum of five attempts since Desirae Martinez was 6-of-7 against S.D Christian on Nov. 26, 2006.

However, Dy's teammates had a difficult time producing offense as no one else scored more than five points.

Freshman Alexcia Mack had five assists, while freshman Adriana Brodie and senior Kristen Huffman each had six rebounds.

Jennifer Judge led CPP (5-5, 3-3) with 23 points.
