Trinidee Trice recorded her second straight double-double, but No. 9 Chico State took control in the final six minutes of play to hand the Coyotes a disappointing 62-56 loss in CCAA women's basketball Saturday night.
The Coyotes, now 6-6 overall and 4-4 CCAA, return to the court Friday night when they play at Cal State East Bay.
Trice scored a game-high 22 points with 13 rebounds, along with three steals and two blocks. Senior
Eliza Dy had 11 points, but was just 4 of 18 from the floor.
The storyline of the game came in the final six minutes. Trice gave the Coyotes a 54-51 lead with a three-point play with 6:04 remaining.
But the Coyotes did not score again until freshman
Adriana Brodie's two free throws with 24 seconds left and Chico State led, 59-54.
CSUSB fired just 32.8 percent from the floor on 22 of 67 shots. The Coyotes were very much in the game largely due to their ability to score off turnovers. The Coyotes outscored Chico State 20-7 off turnovers, but Chico State dominated in the paint with 34 of its points inside.
Courtney Hamilton led the Wildcats (11-1, 7-1) with 16 points to lead three players in double figures. Jazmine Miller and McKenzie Dalthrop each had 12.
The game was tied 15 times with 12 lead changes.

Alexcia Mack had seven points with two rebounds, two assists and one steal.
