SAN BERNARDINO
– Cal State San Bernardino turned aside its recent scoring difficulties with a resounding 66-42 victory over visiting Cal State Stanislaus in CCAA women's basketball Friday night.

Junior Trinidee Trice led a trio of Coyotes in double figures with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and junior Tayllor Gipson added 12 and freshman Alexcia Mack 11 as the Coyotes dominated from the beginning.

CSUSB, now 6-5 overall and 4-3 CCAA, only trailed 3-0 inside the first 30 seconds of the game before its offense got rolling. Mack and Trice also figured in distributing the ball well as each had five assists, but that did not lead the cause.

Senior Eliza Dy added eight points, along with eight rebounds and a game-high six assists.
Leading 38-26 with 14:52 remaining in the game, the Coyotes caught fire from outside to ice the game. On their next four possessions, the Coyotes canned 3-pointers on each – Mack, Dy, Mack and Gipson contributing – and CSUSB led 52-28 with 11:33 remaining in the game.

A three-point play from sophomore Briana Baker gave the Coyotes their largest lead of the game at 34 points (65-31) with 6:14 left.

This was a game that saw the Coyotes dominate on both ends of the court. They outrebounded the Warriors 47-29 with 18 offensive boards.

Lauren Godde and Briana Cotton each had 10 for the Warriors (2-10, 1-6).

The Coyotes return to the court Saturday night when they take on No. 9 Chico State. Tipoff is 5:30 p.m.
