SAN BERNARDINO -- The one-two scoring punch by senior
Angela Streets and graduate student
Eliza Dy, and key rebounding by junior
Kristen Huffman were the difference makers Friday night as the Coyotes' women's basketball team defeated Cal State Dominguez Hills in CCAA play.
The Coyotes snapped their four-game losing streak and improved to 6-13 overall and 5-10 in the CCAA. The Toros dropped to 3-19, 2-13.
All season long, the Coyotes have relied upon scoring by Streets and Dy and this night was no different. Streets scored a game-high 24 points on 8-of-16 shoting, while Dy pumped in 22 and went 8-for-9 at the free-throw line.
Add in Huffman's 13 rebounds -- 10 in the first half -- and the Coyotes were in command for most of the game.
Kenisha McKee's layup put the Coyotes up for good at 8-6 with 15:19 remaining in the first half. They held a 13-point lead at the break and never led the lead go less than six in the second half.
For the game, CSUSB shot 39.3 percent (22-of-56) from the floor and was 12-of-16 from the line. Five different players had assists, led by Dy's five.
Junior
