ARCATA --
Eliza Dy scored a game-high 24 points -- one shy of her season high -- but the Coyotes saw their season end at the hands of Humboldt State 61-55 in the CCAA regular-season finale for both teams.
The Coyotes ended their season 9-14 overall and 8-14 in the CCAA.
CSUSB needed to win the game and have Cal State East Bay lose to have a chance at the conference tie-breaker. But with CSUEB's loss at Chico State on Friday, the Coyotes couldn't pull out the win.
Dy and company led the entire first half and looked to have HSU on the brink after the Lumberjacks toppled the nation's top-ranked team UC San Diego on Wednesday night.
But HSU fired 50 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes on 11 of 22 shots and outscored the Coyotes 17-3 at the line for the six-point win.
Senior
Angela Streets had 14 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
HSU takes a 19-7, 15-7 mark into the postseason.
