Coyotes rout Hope International, 70-42

Huffman, Gipson each score 16 points in blowout win

ONTARIO
-- Cal State San Bernardino had its way with Hope International on Tuesday afternoon, earning a 70-42 victory in nonconference women's basketball at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

The Coyotes improved to 4-3 overall and is off until Dec. 30 when they play at UC San Diego.

Senior Kristen Huffman and junior Tayllor Gipson each scored 16 points as the Coyotes were in complete control early in their game against the Royals. The Coyotes built a double-digit lead just 4 1/2 minutes into the contest and allowed the lead to drop below single digits just once.

CSUSB defended well in the second, giving up just 15 points and seven field goals.

Freshman Alexcia Mack had 10 points with six assists and four rebounds. Sophomore Briana Baker had 10 points with five rebounds.

Freshman Adriana Brodie pulled down 12 rebounds, including six on the offensive end.

The Coyotes did a nice job of distributing the ball as they finished with 17 assists.

Andrina Rendon led HIU with 13 points.
