Yucaipa's Wells signs National Letter of Intent

Coach Don Parnell has announced that Yucaipa RHP Tyler Wells has signed to play at CSUSB next year.
SAN BERNARDINO -- Coyotes baseball coach Don Parnell has announced that Yucaipa native Tyler Wells has signed a National Letter of Intent to study and play at Cal State San Bernardino next fall.

Wells, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound right-hander, played last spring for the Thunderbirds' junior varsity team where he went 8-0 with a 0.89 ERA. He played the entire summer of 2012 with a scout team affiliated with Major League Baseball's Kansas City Royals.

“Tyler has a tremendous amount of ability and potential to perform very well at the college level,'' Parnell said. “His skill level is unlimited and he is as good of a freshman signee as we've had. We'll enjoy following his success this spring at Yucaipa High School and hope that we can teach him well.''

Wells, the son of Jeff and Tonya, also is an honors student at YHS.
