Coyotes snap losing streak with 2-0 win over Cal State Monterey Bay

CSUSB makes most of its two total shots

Freshman Miranda Corneliussen gave the Coyotes their second goal when she converted on a penalty kick late in the second half.

-- Amanda Villavicencio and Miranda Corneliussen made sure the Coyotes' offensive efforts counted as CSUSB earned a 2-0 win over host Cal State Monterey Bay in CCAA women's soccer Friday afternoon.

The Coyotes snapped their three-game losing streak and take an 8-7-2 overall mark and 6-7-1 CCAA record into the season finale Sunday at Cal State East Bay. Kickoff is 11:30 a.m.

Villavicencio gave the Coyotes their first goal in the 13th minute on a feed from freshman Melanie Aguayo.

Corneliussen came through with her first goal of the season when she delivered a penalty kick i the 85th minute.

Junior GK Chelsey Jones earned the start for the Coyotes. She had two saves.
