SAN BERNARDINO -- Senior
Priscilla Gomez got things going for the Coyotes on Sunday, but visiting Cal State Stanislaus responded with three unanswered goals as the Warriors defeated the Coyotes 3-1 on Senior Day in CCAA women's soccer.
The Coyotes, now 7-7-2 overall and 5-7-1 CCAA, will play the final week of the season at Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday and Cal State East Bay on Sunday.
Gomez gave the Coyotes big-time hope early against one of the top team in the NCAA West Region when she earned her second goal of the season at the 7-minute mark on a feed from Taylor Silva.
Five minutes later, the Warriors (14-2, 10-2) tied the game on Karenee Demery's 15th goal of the season and they grabbed the lead going into the half on a goal from Apryl Whitney at the 44th minute.
CSUS added a goal for good measure on Alisa Barlow's shot at the 60th minute.
The Coyotes were out-shot 12-8, while CSUS had seven SOGs and the Coyotes had five.
