CHICO -- Matt Winn ripped a three-run home run in the ninth inning in the Coyotes' 10-7 loss to No. 7 Chico State in the teams' CCAA series opener Friday night.

The Coyotes are now 13-14 overall and 10-9 in the CCAA, while the Wildcats are 21-5, 14-5.

Senior Aaron Brooks took the loss in 6 1/3 innings. He struck out seven, but allowed seven runs -- all earned.

Winn, Chris LeFay and Ethan Chapman all had two hits apiece for CSUSB.
