AZUSA --

Alene Casillas and
Jamie Roland to lift Cal State San Bernardino to a 2-1 victory over Azusa Pacific and complete a nonconference doubleheader sweep of the Cougars.
The Coyotes won the first game, 4-2.
CSUSB improves to 2-2 on the season. It will play an Alumni Game on Saturday and conclude the weekend with a doubleheader at home against Notre Dame de Namur on Sunday.
Mitchell's hit was the highlight of four-hit night. She went 2-for-4 in both games, and also had a key two-out, two-run double in the fifth inning of the opener -- a shot to right-center to keep the inning alive.
Jamie Leffingwell followed with a 3-run homer that was the difference in the opener.
Coyote pitcher
Cassidy Lee retired 10 of the first 11 batters she faced in the opener. However, she gave up a two-run homer to give Azusa Pacific a 2-1 lead.
The Coyotes answered with Leffingwell's home run in their next at-bat, and Lee was solid for the remainder of the game.
The Coyotes dodged trouble in the second game as Azusa Pacific pushed just one of 7 runners at third to score.
