Erica Prentice and
Priscilla Curiel were the stories in Cal State San Bernardino's 2-1 victory in the opening game of a doubleheader at Cal State Dominguez Hills in California Collegiate Athletic Association softball Friday afternoon.
Prentice threw a two-hitter with seven strikeouts and Curiel hit a one-out, game-winning home run in the sixth inning as the Coyotes improved their winning streak to nine games.
In the second game, CSUDH built a 7-0 lead through three innings and held on for a 12-9 victory for a split.

Alyssa Flores put the Coyotes on the scoreboard in the first inning when she connected on a two-out single through the left side of the infield to score
Jacquelyn Holtzclaw, who singled with one out.
That score would remain 1-0 as Prentice was solid in her effort. She allowed just one hit through five innings and struck out seven through only four innings.
The Toros scored their only run in the third to tie the game at 1-1.
Curiel's home run was her third on the season.
Flores and
Courtney Wilhelms each had two hits. Wilhelms had a double.
Game 2: CSUDH 12, Coyotes 7
The Toros scored three runs on six hits in the second to take a 6-0 lead through two innings. They added a solo run in the third, before the Coyotes got on the board with two runs in the fourth.
Curiel led off the inning with a home run to center. Four batters later,
Jamie Roland delivered a run-scoring single to short that scored Wilhelms, who reached on an error.
In the fifth, the Coyotes got within a run of the lead on four runs with six hits. Flores drilled a three-run homer and
Stefanie Pace added a run-scoring single that scored
Felicia Cervantes, who reached on a single.
But the Toros added three more runs in the fifth and two in the sixth to lead 12-6 through six.
Wilhelms made the final margin with three-run homer in the seventh.
Holtzclaw had three hits for the Coyotes, while Curiel and Roland had two hits.
