SAN BERNARDINO -- Seniors
Angela Streets and
Eliza Dy each scored 25 points as the Cal State San Bernardino women's basketball team snapped its four-game losing streak with a decisive 80-54 rout over visiting San Francisco State in CCAA play Friday night.
CSUSB improved to 3-7 overall and 2-4 in the CCAA, while SFSU dropped to 2-9, 1-4.
The Coyotes grabbed the lead for good on a jumper from freshman
Shayna Stuart, giving them a 15-14 lead with 12:44 remaining in the first half.
They led 46-32 at the break, then kicked it into high gear on 50 percent shooting from the floor in the final 20 minutes of 12 of 24 shooting.
Streets was 7 of 17 from the floor with four 3-pointers and a 7-for-8 effort from the line with a game-high 14 rebounds, while Dy was 9 of 15 with two 3-pointers including a desperation heave from just in front of the half-court stripe as the buzzer went off to close the half. She also had three assists with three steals.
Streets' double-double was her first of the season.
The Coyotes outscored the Gators 26-14 inside and held a 21-13 advantage on second-chance points.
Angela Van Sickel provided the Gators (2-9, 1-4) with 19 points. She was 6 of 15 from the floor and had three 3-pointers.
For CSUSB,
Jaslyn Cosey had 11 points with five rebounds.
The Coyotes are on the road next week beginning with Friday's game at Chico State.
