LOS ANGELES
-- Cal State Los Angeles spoiled the California Collegiate Athletic Association opener for Cal State San Bernardino's women Friday night, routing the Coyotes in the second half for a 79-56 victory in the Eagles Nest.

The Coyotes actually led by seven points with 11:15 remaining in the first half but the hosts rallied to lead 35-33 at intermission.

While CSUSB was cold as ice from the field, the Golden Eagles pulled away in the second half to improve to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the CCAA while the Coyotes are 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the CCAA heading into Saturday's game at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

Tessondra Williams led Cal State L.A., with 21 points on eight of 11 shooting while Lacy Ramon had 15 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.

The Coyotes just 28.4 percent from the field (19 of 67) and were shut six of 19 from three-point range (31.6 percent). Another telling statistic was CSUSB's failure at the foul line, making just 12 of 26 tries (46 percent). L.A. outbounded the visitors 53-39.

Angela Streets led the Coyotes with 14 points, hitting three of her five tries from beyond the arc. Kenisha McKee had 12 points and nine rebounds while Jessica DeLaCruz had 10 points but made just four of 16 field goals and was just two for 10 from long range.
