TURLOCK -- A pair of seniors made sure Cal State San Bernardino's recent winning streak would be extended for one more night.
Casey Hirsch and
Brittany Wilding each scored unassisted goals late in the second half as the visiting Coyotes defeated host Cal State Stanislaus 2-1 in CCAA women's soccer Friday night.
The victory was CSUSB's third straight as it improved to 5-5-1 overall and 3-5-1 in the CCAA, while CSUS dropped to 5-3-3, 4-3-2.
Despite totaling a combined 16 shots in the first half, both teams went into halftime scoreless.
CSUS grabbed a 1-0 lead on Allison Case's shot from 10 yards out to right center in the 49th minute.
The scored remained 1-0 until Hirsch came through with an unassisted goal in the 75th minute. The Yorba Linda native had a fast break and nailed a shot center of goal.
Then, 10 minutes later, Wilding earned the eventual game-winning goal. She finished off a drive with a shot to the left post and CSUSB held on for the win.
Chelsey Jones earned the start at GK and responded with eight saves.
The Coyotes complete the weekend at Chico State on Sunday.
