Box Score: No. 3 Coyotes def. CSU Monterey Bay 3-0
SAN BERNADINO -- Cal State San Bernardino's women's volleyball team opened defense of its California Collegiate Athletic Association title Friday night with a 3-0 sweep of Cal State Monterey Bay before 302 fans in Coussoulis Arena.
The victory improved the Coyotes to 4-1 on the season, 1-0 in the CCAA while the previously unbeaten Otters are now 3-1 overall and 0-1 in the conference. CSUSB hosts San Francisco State, which lost 3-0 at Cal Poly Pomona, at 7 p.m. Saturday while the Otters take on the Broncos.

Jane Chafeh had 13 kills, eight digs and two blocks in the victory as Coach
Kim Cherniss played 16 players with only four players appearing in all three sets. Junior all-American
Samantha Middleborn had seven kills on .600 hitting and two solo blocks as did junior outside hitter
Priscilla Collings.

Camille Smith and junior
Krista Hasemeyer combined for 34 assists at the setter spot.
CSUSB hit .278 as they took all three sets, 25-15, 25-18 and 25-19. Cal State Monterey Bay hit just .041 with 26 attack errors. Rheann Fall led the Otters eith eight kills and seven digs. Tiffany Riggs and Melanie Lashbrook each had three block assists.
The victory was the Coyotes' 32nd home win in a row dating back to the start of the 2008 season. Their last home loss was to Western Washington in the 2007 West Regional title match on Nov. 17, 2007.
