SAN MARCOS — Cal State San Bernardino dropped an 11-9 decision to Cal State San Marcos, Sunday in an exhibition game for the Coyotes.

Bryant Veiga went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored while Ethan Chapman went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored. Darren Dworak took the lost after throwing the final one and two-thirds innings.

CSUSB broke a scoreless tie in the top of the sixth with eight runs, but the Cougars answered with three in the bottom half of the inning and eight more in the seventh to lead 11-8. CSUSB could come up with just one more in the ninth.

The Coyotes (16-10) get back to CCAA play next week then they host UC San Diego for a pair of 3 p.m. games Thursday and Friday before ending the series with a 12 p.m. doubleheader at UCSD Saturday.
