Cal State San Bernardino and Dixie State split their non-conference baseball doubleheader on Saturday at Arrowhead Credit Union Park.
The Coyotes and Red Storm battled into the 11th inning, tied at 3-3. Dixie came up with two runs to take the lead, but CSUSB responded with a three-run, walk-off home run by
Julio Torres to win the game 6-5 and improve to 3-5 on the season.
However, in the seven-inning nightcap, it was Dixie State with the bats as they downed the Coyotes 13-5. CSUSB is now 3-6 overall while the Red Storm is 1-3. The two teams conclude their series at 11 a.m. Sunday. Game one of the series, halted on Friday by rain, will not be finished and was declared no contest.
