Biography

    BEFORE CAL STATE: Torres was a teammate of Jorge Dryjanski and Daniel Stenavich at Southwestern Community College in Chula Vista where he played two years of baseball and was an honorable mention all-conference pick.
    HIGH SCHOOL: He is a 2006 graduate of Otay Ranch High School in Chula Vista. He played four years of baseball, earning all-league and "athlete of the year" honors in 2006 and team MVP honors in 2005. He also played four years of football and was a two-time, first-team all-league selection as a linebacker and was the 2004 team's defensive player of the year.
    PERSONAL: Torres is a kinesiology major who would like a career in professional baseball. He has worked on baseball fields doing maintenance, laying sod and putting up outfield fences. In his spare time he enjoys watching TV, listening to music, collecting baseball cards and working on his computer. His parents are Luis and Ines Torres. He has four siblings.
    MOST MEMORABLE SPORTS MOMENT -- Robbing a San Diego Mesa College player of a three-run homer that would have stopped us from going to the state JC playoffs in 2007.
    WHY I CHOSE CSUSB -- I wanted to try something new and be in a new environment.
