Cal State San Bernardino, riding a nine-match win streak to open the season and ranked No. 1 in the nation, is hoping to keep that momentum going at home this weekend with a pair of conference matches against Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus. 
    The Wildcats, 8-4 overall and 1-1 in the CCAA, were ranked among the nation's top 25 until they lost last weekend while the Warriors are 3-8 overall and 0-2 in the CCAA entering the weekend. 
    COYOTES VS. CHICO STATE – CSUSB won both meetings in 2007 and leads the all-time series 25-2.

    YOTES NOTES – Coyotes are 63-5 overall since the start of the 2006 season and 38-2 in the CCAA in that span that includes back-to-back CCAA titles in 2006 and 2007…..in nine matches thus far in 2008, CSUSB has outscored opponents 27-3 in sets with six sweeps…..CSUSB leads the CCAA in hitting percentage (.305), assists (14.23/set); kills (14.80/set), and are No. 2 in opponent hitting percentage (.119)….. CSUSB received 29 of 36 first-place votes in the weekly AVCA coaches top 25 poll to lead the poll for the third straight week.
    CCAA LEADERS – Senior Sara Rice leads the CCAA in hitting percentage (.385) while senior Jessica Granados is second (.371)….junior setter Sara Hoffman leads in assists (12.22/set)…Granados is the leader in kills (4.70/set)…sophomore outside hitter Jane Chafeh ranks No. 8 at 2.96 kps….senior libero Meghan Haas is the digs leader at 5.39/set…. 
    WILDCAT WHISKERS – After opening the season with six straight wins, the Wildcats lost three matches to top 25 teams at a tournament….Lindsay Macias is averaging 2.49 kills and 2.92 digs per set with team-leading 15 service aces….Makenzie Snyder is averaging 2.70 kps and 2.76 dps…..Crystal Trifeletti has 28 blocks thus far (0.80 per set)…..the 'Cats are No.2 in the CCAA in digs (16.37 dps) and No. 3 in assists (11.61 aps)…. 
    WARRIOR WHOOPS – Despite a losing record, the Warriors have some players putting up impressive numbers. Jen Gee is the team leader in kills at 3.02/set with 19 service aces….Lianne Vicchio is averaging 2.91 kps and 2.52 dps with 26 service aces….Angela Ohland is the top blocker on the team with 25 (0.57/set)….. 
    COMING UP – Coyotes will host Cal Poly Pomona at 7 p.m. Wednesday followed by NAIA power Cal Baptist on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. The Broncos are 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the CCAA entering the weekend while CBU's only loss was to Fresno Pacific. The Lancers are 13-1 right now.
