PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Cal State San Bernardino opened play in the Schutt Sports D2 Leadoff Classic softball tournament Thursday night with a 10-6 victory over Montana State-Billings at Rose Mofford
Complex.
The Coyotes will play two more games in pool play Friday -- at 11 a.m. against Barry University of Florida and at 1:30 p.m. against the same Yellowjackets team from Billings.
Those games will determine if CSUSB advances into elimination play.
A total of 23 teams are competing in the tournament through Saturday.
Information on the Coyotes win was unavailable Thursday night other than the score, which was posted on the tournament website that can be reached by Googling Triple Crown Sports, the company that promotes so-called "grass roots tournaments."
Barry's sports information office will provide live stats of the 11 a.m. game Friday through its athletics website, according to their sports information office.
