Mike Gutierrez begins his eighth year with the Coyote volleyball program in 2015. He has served as an assistant coach the last five seasons, after serving one year as a graduate assistant in 2007 and a volunteer assistant in 2005.
The 2005 CSUSB graduate also coaches with the Rancho Valley Volleyball Club. He coached the 17 Premier Team from 2007-10 and helped the club finish 2nd at the Volleyball Festival Finals in Arizona in 2010.
He also helped assist coach Kim Cherniss' 16 Premier team in 2010 and coached current Coyotes' members Alyssa Heldreth, Danielle Maxwell and Erica Walters during their junior years in club.
He competed for two years on the La Sierra University men's club team and was a AAA-rated CBVA player in 2007.
The Riverside resident received his teaching credential in 2007 from CSUSB and has taught middle school in the Redlands Unified School District.
