CARSON, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino baseball team closed out its 2026 regular season with a 6-5 defeat at the hands of Cal State Dominguez Hills Saturday afternoon in a CCAA contest at Toro Field.
With the defeat, CSUSB closes the regular season with a record of 23-25 overall and 15-16 in the CCAA.
The Coyotes scored the first run of the game in the top of the third on an RBI single from sophomore
Keedan Nadeau (Highland, Calif.).
CSUSB built on its lead by posting four runs in the top of the fifth. Senior
Dom Dominguez (Victorville, Calif.) had a two-run single to start the rally, followed by a sac fly from
Alejandro McKay (San Diego, Calif.) and an RBI single from senior
Jeremy Giesegh (Upland, Calif.).Â
The Yotes squandered the lead late, as the Toros rallied for five in the seventh and one in the eighth to pull off the come-from-behind win.
Senior
Carter Herrera (Yucaipa, Calif.) was stellar for the Coyotes on the hill, allowing just two hits over six innings with four strikeouts and no walks, but got the no-decision.Â
Nadeau and senior
Greg Luna (Moreno Valley, Calif.) paced the Coyotes offensively with a pair of hits apiece.Â
Next up, the Coyotes will open the CCAA Tournament with a play-in game against Cal State Los Angeles on Wednesday. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
