SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - Four members of the California State University San Bernardino baseball team were named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-West Region First Team on Monday afternoon.
Eddie Alfaro (Moreno Valley, Calif.), Garret Barto (Pittsburgh, Pa.), and Dom Dominguez (Victorville, Calif.), who were each named to the NCBWA West Region First Team last week, picked up another honor. They are joined by freshman Tyson Pettingill (Overton, Nev.), who was also named to the first team.
Alfaro finished the season with a .383/.486/.572 slash line in 49 games. Barto finished .411/.495/.815 with 20 home runs and 59 RBIs across 49 games. Dominguez hit .351/.462/.660 with 18 home runs and 66 RBIs in 50 games. Alfaro and Barto were All-CCAA First Team selections, while Dominguez was a second team All-CCAA honoree and earned two CCAA Player of the Week awards.
For the season, Pettingill slashed .394/.493/.665 with 11 home runs, 54 runs batted in, and three stolen bases in 48 games. Additionally, he was named CCAA Freshman of the Year and was a Second-Team All-CCAA Selection.
The quartet led the Coyotes to a CCAA Tournament Championship, and also helped lift the Yotes to within one game of the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament.
