Box Score COSTA MESA, Calif. - The #8 California State University San Bernardino men's soccer team played the Vanguard University Lions to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday afternoon at the Vanguard University Soccer Complex.
With the draw, the Coyotes now sit at 2-0-1.
Neither side got many real chances in the first half, with the only shot on goal for the Yotes coming in the 41st minute by senior Luis Marin which was saved by Vanguard.
The game remained at a 0-0 standstill until the Lions took a 1-0 lead off a left-footed goal in the 70th minute.
CSUSB did not give up and continued to fight until senior Tony Negrete (Hawaiian Gardens, Calif.) tied it up with just 19.3 seconds remaining in the contest with a goal to the lower left which was assisted by sophomore Austin Dang (Anaheim, Calif.).
In goal, redshirt junior Donovan Palomares (Boyle Heights, Calif.) made three stops in the draw.
Up next, CSUSB comes home to face Concordia University Irvine in their home opener on Saturday. Kickoff at Premier Field is set for 12:30 p.m.
