SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino softball team split a CCAA doubleheader with Stanislaus State on Saturday afternoon at the CSUSB Softball Park.
CSUSB emerged victorious 7-4 in game one, before falling short 6-3 in game two.
With the split, CSUSB moves to 11-11 overall on the season and 5-5 in the CCAA.

Game 1 - Cal State San Bernardino 7, Stanislaus State 4
CSUSB scored the game's first run in the bottom of the second on an RBI single to centerfield by senior Tereise Tosi (Garden Grove, Calif.), plating junior Alex Hooper (Auburn, Calif.).
After Stanislaus got the run back in the top of the third, the Coyotes took command of the game by scoring four times in the bottom of the frame. A throwing error from the Stanislaus third baseman allowed CSUSB to score their first run of the frame, followed by a run-scoring double from Hooper and a two-run double from Diggy Olson (Riverside, Calif.).
The Coyotes tacked on another run in the bottom of the fourth on a Madison Zaro (Chino, Calif.) RBI groundout, but the Warriors made things interesting by scoring a pair in the top of the fifth to cut the deficit to 6-3.
An RBI fielder's choice for Bri Goris (Chino, Calif.) gave the Yotes some insurance in the bottom of the sixth, rendering a single Stanislaus run in the top of the seventh irrelevant.
Shannon Galliano (San Mateo, Calif.) led the Coyotes with three hits, while four players - Tosi, Zaro, Goris, and Hooper - all had a pair.
Senior Samantha Vargas (Grand Terrace, Calif.) got the win in the circle for CSUSB, allowing no earned runs over six innings pitched with a pair of strikeouts.

Game 2 - Stanislaus State 6, Cal State San Bernardino 3
The Warriors scored the contest's first five runs, delivering a huge blow in the top of the fourth with a grand slam over the fence in center.
The Coyotes finally broke through in the bottom of the fourth when senior Emilie Lapeña (Buena Park, Calif.) hit a cue shot to first base for an RBI infield single, cutting the deficit to 5-1. The Yotes added another an inning later, when Zaro hit a sac fly to left.
Stan State added an insurance marker in the top of the sixth to go up 6-2. In the bottom of the seventh, the Warriors retired the first two Coyote hitters, before Tosi hit a towering, no-doubt solo homer over the wall in left center, drawing CSUSB to within three. The Coyotes would bring the winning run to the plate after the next three batters reached, but the Yotes could not level the score, and Stanislaus escaped with the victory.
Galliano and Goris led CSUSB with a pair of hits in the defeat, while senior Brooke Blackmon (Exeter, Calif.) took the loss in the circle.
