ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Four California State University San Bernardino women's basketball student-athletes earned California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Conference recognition on Tuesday afternoon.
Graduate student Jaida Jackson (Moreno Valley, Calif.) was named to the First Team. Jackson leads the team with 12.6 points per game and leads the CCAA in assists (4.6 per game). She also ranks sixth in the conference in steals, averaging 2.1 per game.
Joining her on the First Team is graduate student Lauryn Morris (Irvine, Calif.). Morris ranks second on the team in scoring with 12.4 points per game and is in the CCAA top five in two other categories: field goal percentage (51.5%, 4th) and rebounds per game (8.0, 5th).
Senior Mia Dufresne (Torrance, Calif.) made it to the Honorable Mention team. The program's all-time leading shot blocker, Dufresne led the CCAA in blocks per game with 2.3. She also averaged 9.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, ranking seventh in rebounds.
Senior Deannah Buckner (Rialto, Calif.), who earned Honorable Mention honors, rounded out the Coyote selections. Buckner leads the team in minutes played, averaging 30.4 per game. She has been a consistent contributor, with averages of 8.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 23-of-61 from three-point range.
The team finished fourth in the CCAA standings and will face Cal State Los Angeles in the first round of the CCAA Tournament on Thursday in San Marcos, with tip-off set for 8 p.m.
