Game 1 - Sonoma State 5, Cal State San Bernardino 1
Sonoma State University got on the board first with a pair of runs in the top of the second.
The Coyotes plated their only run of the contest in the bottom of the third inning, when senior Tereise Tosi (Garden Grove, Calif.) drove in graduate student Shannon Galliano (San Mateo, Calif.) with a base hit to center field.
The score remained 2-1 until the top of the seventh, when Sonoma State added three insurance runs to put the contest out of reach.Â
Five Coyotes all had one hit each for CSUSB, with Galliano notching the only extra base hit with a double, and senior Diggy Olson (Riverside, Calif.) notching a stolen base.
Senior Brooke Blackmon (Exeter, Calif.) was tagged with the loss despite six strong innings, allowing just three earned runs with a pair of Ks.

Game 2 - Cal State San Bernardino 10, Sonoma State 6
After conceding the game's first run, the Coyotes answered back with a pair in the bottom of the second to take a 2-1 lead, thanks to bases loaded walks from seniors Sarah Moite (Fresno, Calif.) and Jonessa Hebreo (San Diego, Calif.).
Sonoma State answered with three runs in the top of the third, but the Coyotes cut the lead in half with a Brooke Brazill (Clovis, Calif.) sacrifice fly, plating Tosi from third base.
The Seawolves scored twice in the top of the fifth to stretch their advantage to 6-3, but Bri Goris (Chino, Calif.) belted a solo home run over the wall in right to cut into the deficit.
The Coyotes broke the contest open with a six-run sixth inning, taking a commanding 10-6 lead. A base hit from Olson started the inning to draw CSUSB to within one at 6-5, but it was Tosi that gave the hosts the lead with a two-run double down the right field line. A throwing error, a Brazill infield single, and a Lindsey Marschall (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) RBI fielder's choice rounded out the bottom of the sixth to give CSUSB a four-run lead.
Senior Ashley Legler (San Diego, Calif.) came into the game in relief and got the win for the Yotes. She threw four innings and allowed only one earned run with three strikeouts and no walks.
The Coyotes will be back in action this week with a doubleheader against Biola University on Tuesday. First pitch in game one of the twin bill is slated for 12 p.m.
