Box Score SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino baseball team fell to the San Francisco State Gators 18-6 on Sunday afternoon at Fiscalini Field.
With the defeat, the Coyotes' record stands at 12-6 overall and 4-4 in CCAA play.
San Francisco State took a 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the top of the second. In the bottom half of the inning, junior Jeremy Giesegh (Upland, Calif.) tied it up with a home run of his own to left field.
The Gators dominated the rest of the game, scoring at least one run in each inning except for the first, including five home runs.
CSUSB added one run in the fifth inning on an RBI single by graduate student Daryl Ruiz (Corona, Calif.) and another in the sixth on an RBI single from senior Matt Gonzales (Glendora, Calif.).
The Coyotes added three more in the bottom of the ninth after a two-RBI single by senior Adrian Hinojosa (Chula Vista, Calif.) and an RBI single by junior Benji Solano (Chula Vista, Calif.)
Next, the Coyotes will remain in Southern California but travel to Cal Poly Pomona for a four-game series against the Broncos, beginning on Friday. First pitch for game one of the doubleheader is scheduled for 5 p.m.
