Men's Basketball Falls to Cal State Dominguez Hills

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino men's basketball team fell in its CCAA opener to Cal State Dominguez Hills by a final score of 76-68 Thursday evening at Coussoulis Arena.

With the defeat, the Coyotes fall to 3-5 overall on the season and 0-1 in CCAA play.

The Toros took a 10-point lead into the locker room, holding a 38-28 advantage at the end of the first half. Redshirt senior Gavin Davis (Carson, Calif.) led CSUSB with seven first-half points.

Cal State San Bernardino was able to get to within six early in the second half, but would get no closer. The Toros would expand their lead to as many as 14 points before winning the contest by eight as CSUSB's comeback bid ran out of time.

Coyote sophomore Aidan Fowler (San Clemente, Calif.) scored 14 of his team-high 19 points in the second half, while true freshman Xavier Clinton (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) scored 11 of his 14 after halftime.

The only other Yote in double figures was redshirt senior Amound Anderson II (Gardena, Calif.), who posted 10.

The Yotes will be back in action on Saturday to continue CCAA play against Cal State Los Angeles. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m.
