Box Score CHICO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino men's soccer team drew 1-1 with Chico State Friday evening in a CCAA contest at University Soccer Stadium.
With the draw, CSUSB moves to 6-2-4 overall and 1-1-2 in the CCAA.
Cal State San Bernardino controlled the first half of the action, but the Wildcats broke the ice on a back-breaking goal with just 13 seconds until halftime, putting the hosts ahead 1-0.
It appeared the goal would hold up as the game-winner, before the Coyotes finally broke through in the 87th minute. After a
Diego Lopez (Los Angeles, Calif.) cross was played into the Chico State box, a loose ball found the foot of senior
Anthony Morales (Orange, Calif.), who delivered a shot into the bottom right corner of the net to level the game.
Both teams had quality opportunities to win the game in the final three and a half minutes, but neither found the back of the net and the game ended in a draw.
Coyote junior goalkeeper
Donovan Palomares (Boyle Heights, Calif.) made three saves in net for CSUSB to help his team earn a point in the CCAA standings.
Next up, the Coyotes will continue north to Cal Poly Humboldt, taking on the Lumberjacks Sunday at 2 p.m.
