SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino men's basketball team took care of San Francisco State 76-67 Thursday evening in CCAA action at the Don Nasser Family Plaza.
With the win, the Coyotes improve to 14-6 overall on the season and 7-4 in CCAA play.
San Francisco State controlled the play for the majority of the first half, leading for nearly 15 minutes and by as many as eight points. The Coyotes surged in the final minutes of the half, taking the lead on an
Andrew Henderson (Chatsworth, Calif.) three with 27 seconds remaining to head into the half ahead by one at 30-29.Â
San Francisco State opened the second half on a 22-6 run to take their largest lead of the night at 51-36 with just over 12 minute to go, but it was all Coyotes from there. The Coyotes dropped 40 points in the final 11 minutes of the game, including a clip of 5-for-8 (62.5 percent) from three-point land to climb over the Gators and soar to the victory. Graduate student
Evan Oliver (San Bernardino, Calif.) scored 26 points for the Coyotes in the final 11 minutes of the game alone.
Oliver finished as the game's leading scorer with 31 points for CSUSB. He was one of three Coyotes in double figures, joined by Henderson with 11 and
Jordan Jones (Macon, Ga.) with 10.
Next up for the Yotes, they'll travel across the bay to take on Cal State East Bay on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m.
