IRVINE, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's soccer team opened its 2024 season with a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Concordia University Irvine Friday evening in non-conference action at Golden Eagles Field.
With the defeat, CSUSB opens its season at 0-1-0 overall.
The Golden Eagles netted all four of their goals before the halftime break, with markers in the ninth, 31st, 36th, and 43rd minutes. The hosts held a 15-0 edge in shots in the half.
The Yotes kept CUI off the board in the second half, and mustered their only two shots of the contest. Junior Unieque Solis (San Bernardino, Calif.) notched CSUSB's lone shot on goal with a bid in the 84th minute.
Between the pipes, senior Leila Peregrina (Chino, Calif.) took the defeat, despite a seven-save performance
Next up for CSUSB, they will play their home opener on Monday afternoon at Premier Field against Hawaii Hilo. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m.
