AZUSA, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino women's track & field team had a handful of student-athletes compete Friday in day one of the Franson Last Chance Meet, hosted by Azusa Pacific University.

Graduate student Alexandra Ackerman (Lake Elsinore, Calif.) got through to Saturday's final of the 100 meter dash, with a time of 11.85 seconds in the preliminary round and a 11.52 second wind-aided run in the semifinal. Ackerman's semifinal run is the 18th fastest time in the Division II this season, and sets a new CSUSB program record.

In the same event, junior Hailey Hunt (Winnetka, Calif.) ran a time of 11.67 in the prelims, but fell short of reaching the final with a ninth place finish in the semifinal.

Senior Kyndahl Carter (Los Angeles, Calif.) qualified for the final of the 100 meter hurdles as well, running a time of 13.85 seconds in the preliminary. The run bumps Carter into 14th on the national qualifying list.

Junior Helena Valdez (Riverside, Calif.) capped the night for the Coyotes by competing in the 5,000 meter run. Valdez ran a time of 18:27.17 to place 39th.
