Game 1 - Biola 2, Cal State San Bernardino 1 (8 Innings)
Game one was a pitchers' duel right from the hop, as neither team recorded a run until the Coyotes broke the ice in the top of the fifth inning. With two away in the inning, junior Tereise Tosi (Garden Grove, Calif.) roped a base hit into right center, plating classmate Diggy Olson (Riverside, Calif.) from second base, giving CSUSB a 1-0 lead.
The Eagles scored their lone run of regulation play without the benefit of the hit in the bottom of the sixth inning to knot the score. Biola capitalized on a lead-off walk, followed up by a sacrifice bunt and two fielder's choices to bring Kennadie Tsue around to score.
CSUSB got two runners aboard in the top of the seventh, but were unable to capitalize and the game went to extras.Â
The Coyotes were one out away from forcing the game to the ninth inning, but Kaitlyn Hawkins delivered a walk-off single to left field for the Eagles, giving Biola the 2-1 win.
Three Coyotes - Tosi, Shannon Galliano (San Mateo, Calif.), and Emilie Lapeña (Buena Park, Calif.) - each recorded a pair of hits in the defeat.
The loss was charged to senior pitcher Natalie Carlos (Garden Grove. Calif.). She allowed two earned on six hits over 7.2 innings pitched with one strikeout.
Game 2 - Biola 9, Cal State San Bernardino 7
Both sets of bats came to life in game two, and right from the top of the first inning. Reigning CCAA Player of the Week Bri Goris (Chino, Calif.) opened up the scoring with a two-run double, and came around to score on a double from senior Hayden Greene (El Dorado Hills, Calif.).Â
BIola responded right away, when Raylene Roybal notched a three-run home run in the bottom of the first to knot the score at 3-3. The Eagles would score three more times in the bottom of the second to take their first lead of the contest at 6-3.
CSUSB answered in the top of the fourth, plating three runs to once again tie the game. Olson notched a pair of RBIs on a base hit to right center to draw the Yotes to within one, before Tosi drew her team even with a base hit to right.
Biola's third three-run inning of the game came in the bottom of the fourth, putting the hosts on top for good at 9-6.
CSUSB mounted a comeback bid when sophomore Shaylee Zaitz (Peoria, Ariz.) notched an RBI double to right center in the top of the fifth, but that would end up being as close as the Coyotes would get in the eventual defeat.
Samantha Vargas (Grand Terrace, Calif.) was charged with the loss for the Coyotes. She threw 2.2 relief innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits. She moves to 4-5 overall on the season.
Offensively, the Yotes were paced by Greene, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Galliano and Tosi each recorded two hits for the second contest in a row.

The Coyotes will return home to the CSUSB Softball Park on Friday to open up a series against Stanislaus State. First pitch in game one of the twinbill is slated for 1 p.m.
