The majority of game one was completed on Saturday afternoon, but will officially go down in the record books as being played on Sunday. The game was resumed in the top of the seventh inning.
In the top of the first, grad student
Giovanni Del Negro (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) gave the Coyotes an early lead on an RBI single, but San Marcos responded with three in the bottom of the first inning.
Daniel Garcia Jr. (San Bernardino, Calif.) got the Coyotes back to within one on an RBI reach on error in the top of the third inning, but the Cougars again pulled away with four runs in the bottom of the frame, and added one more in the bottom of the fourth to go ahead 8-2.
CSUSB cut the lead in half in the top of the sixth on a three-run double from sophomore
Patrick Fregoso (Eastvale, Calif.), but the comeback bid fell short when CSUSM answered with nine runs in the bottom of the inning to put the game out of reach.
Garrett Macias (Iwakuni, Japan) and
Jason Shedlock (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) each recorded three hits for CSUSBÂ in the defeat.
Game 2 - Cal State San Marcos 8, Cal State San Bernardino 6Â Â
The Coyotes jumped out to a 6-0 lead with runs in four of the first five innings.
Jake Borst (Imperial Beach, Calif.) opened the scoring with an RBI single in the top of the first, followed in the second by an RBI fielder's choice from senior

Shedlock's RBI triple in the top of the fourth put the Yotes up by four, before
Daryl Ruiz (Corona, Calif.) stretched the advantage to five with an RBI double.
Jeremy Giesegh (Upland, Calif.) capped Cal State San Bernardino's offense with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
San Marcos scored in each of the final four innings to erase the six-run deficit and prevail by a final score of 8-6.
