Men's Basketball Rolls Past Stanislaus State

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino men's basketball team took care of Stanislaus State University 93-50 Thursday evening in California Collegiate Athletic Association action at Coussoulis Arena.

With the victory, the Coyotes move to 20-6 overall and 15-5 in the CCAA.

The Coyotes dominated the opening half, taking a 45-27 lead into the locker room. San Bernardino shot 16-of-32 (50 percent) from the floor and 5-of-11 (45.5 percent) from distance in their high-powered opening half. Leading the way offensively was senior Sedrick Altman (Rialto, Calif.), who notched 16 points on 5-for-6 shooting, while classmate Robby Robinson (San Diego, Calif.) posted 11 points and four boards.

CSUSB continued to control the game after the break, gliding to the lopsided victory. The Yotes outpaced Stanislaus 48-23 in the second half, led by nine points from junior Chris Mitchell (Oceanside, Calif.). The hosts shot nearly 60 percent from the floor in the second half at 19-for-32, while the Warriors were held to just 24 percent shooting at 6-for-25.

Robinson finished as the game's leading scorer, turning in a monster 19-point, 10-rebound, five-assist performance. Mitchell posted a double-double of his own with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Altman finished just behind Robinson with 18 points, while senior LeAndrew Knight (Lompoc, Calif.) scored 14. Junior Evan Guillory (Springfield, Mo.) was immense on both ends of the floor, finishing the evening with eight points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

Next up for the Coyotes, they will face off against Cal State Monterey Bay for Senior Day at Coussoulis Arena on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m.
