LANGLEY, British Columbia - The #14 California State University San Bernardino men's basketball team took down Western Oregon University 88-68 Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at the Langley Events Centre.
With the victory, the Yotes improve to 2-1 overall on the young season.
Cal State San Bernardino opened the game on a 13-0 run in the first 4:01, capped by a fast break layup from graduate student
Giordan Williams (Carson, Calif.).
CSUSB led by as many as 20 in the first half, but the Wolves narrowed the gap to nine at 41-32 by the break. Williams led all players with 11 first half points and two first half steals.
Western Oregon got to within four early in the second half, but the Coyotes quickly pulled away to cruise to the win. CSUSB's largest lead late in the contest was 24 points.
Williams finished as the contest's leading scorer with 23 points in the win, while senior
Andrew Henderson (Chatsworth, Calif.) posted 20 points, with 18 coming in the second half.
Charlie Henderson (Ladera Ranch, Calif.),
Evan Oliver (San Bernardino, Calif.), and
Evan Guillory (Springfield, Mo.) all finished in double figures as well with 15, 11, and 10 points respectively.
Next up for the Coyotes, they will continue their season-opening road trip against Central Washington at the Central Washington Tournament on Friday. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. from Ellensburg, Wash.
