Box Score CHICO, Calif. - The No. 21 California State University San Bernardino women's volleyball team began a five-match road trip Friday evening at Chico State's Acker Gym, winning 3-1 in California Collegiate Athletic Association action. Set scores were 25-18, 25-15, 20-25, and 25-21.
With the win, CSUSB stands at 8-4, including a 4-1 mark in CCAA play.
CSUSB started off strong, taking the first set 25-18 and leading by as many as nine points. They fared even better in the second set 25-15. The +10 margin in the second set tied their largest set margin of victory of the season.
Senior and reigning CCAA Offensive Player of the Week Ashley Robinson (Tucson, Ariz.) continued to pace the way for the Coyotes with 20 kills, the fourth time she has reached 20 or more kills this season. Entering the match, she ranked eighth in NCAA Division II in kills per set at 4.50. 
Chico made it interesting by winning the third set and posting the best single set hitting percentage (.333) of any set by either side on the evening, but CSUSB proved too much. Overall, the Coyotes hit .250 compared to the Wildcats' .184. 
CSUSB also recorded a season-high 12 service aces, including five by junior libero Abbey Clarke (Oswego, Ill.), which was also a season-high by an individual CSUSB player.
Next up, the Yotes will travel to Stanislaus State on Saturday evening. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
