SAN BERNARDINO, CA – To find the last time the Yotes lost a regular season game on their home court, you'd have to go back to September 15, 2015. Yes that's correct, it has been nearly eight years since CSUSB lost a regular season game at home. The Yotes extended their remarkable streak on Thursday night with a sweep in their home opener at the Yotes Classic Showcase against longtime West Region rival Western Washington.
The Yotes and Vikings started the final game of day one of the Yotes Classic Showcase with a bang. 14 kills for the Yotes would give them the 25-22 win in set one and there was no looking back from there. The Yotes excelled over the Vikings in nearly every category (four of them being double digits) at the end of the night. They amassed 51.0 points, 45 kills, 39 assists and 42 digs in their three-set win.
Freshman OH
Trinity Sheridan led both teams in kills, putting up 12. She was closely followed by fellow Yote and CCAA Preseason Watchlist honoree
Jenna Patton with 11. Together, they combined for a .867 hitting average on the night.
Senior Setter
Marlee Nunley, also named to the CCAA Preseason Watchlist, had 26 assists in her first senior appearance. On the defensive front,
Shira Lahav led all competitors with 14 digs in her debut as a Yote.
The Yotes are back in action today with a doubleheader lineup. They will take on Central Washington at 2:30 PM followed by an evening game against Regis University at 7:30 PM. Both of these matches will be streamed live on the CCAA Network at CCAANetwork.com. For more information on the Yotes Classic Showcase, click
