CHICO, Calif. - In an eagerly anticipated nationally ranked matchup, the Yotes emerged victorious against the No. 5 Chico State Wildcats with a final score of 70-67 in a late-game thriller. The Yotes extended their unbeaten streak, improving their overall record to 5-0 and securing a 1-0 start in the CCAA.
 
Both the Yotes and the Wildcats entered the conference unbeaten, holding positions among the top ten teams in the nation. The game lived up to its high expectations and delivered excitement throughout.
 
The Yotes started off strong right from the tipoff, maintaining the lead for the majority of the game and even building an 18-point advantage in the second half.
 
Sedrick Altman delivered another explosive performance for the Yotes, contributing 17 points in the game, with 11 coming from successful free throw attempts. Altman currently holds the second spot in the CCAA for scoring, averaging 16.4 points per game. Additionally, he secured 7 rebounds in the game, with five of them on the defensive end.
 
Robby Robinson continued to make significant defensive and offensive contributions for the Yotes, putting up 11 points while shooting 4-for-9 from the field and grabbing seven rebounds. Robinson is currently ranked second in the CCAA for rebounding, averaging 8.6 rebounds per game. 
Jalen Flanagan showcased impressive shooting skills, going 1-for-1 from beyond the arc and 4-for-6 from the field.
 
LeAndrew Knight, coming off the bench, delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 11 points and making a notable impact on the defensive end.
 
Despite the Wildcats narrowing the Yotes' lead to just one point in the final ten seconds of the game, 
Sedrick Altman maintained composure and sank two crucial free throws to seal the victory. The game concluded with a final score of 70-67.
 
In terms of overall performance, the Yotes shot 22-for-46, or 47.8%, from the field and 3-for-12, or 25%, from beyond the arc. Notably, the Yotes gained a significant advantage from the free throw line, going 23-for-40. This made a crucial difference in the final outcome of the game.
